Welcome to In-tellinc

In-tellinc is a science and technology incubator managed by a consortium comprising KPMG, the University of Tasmania and private investors. In-tellinc provides early stage companies with the resources and support necessary to realise their potential.

Based at 301 Sandy Bay Rd, Sandy Bay in Tasmania, Australia, In-tellinc positions itself as a full-service venture partner for innovative start-up and early stage companies that have high growth prospects and international potential.

Delivering a dynamic enterprise development program, In-tellinc provides resources in marketing, management and money, with the objective of accelerating a company’s growth during the commercialisation process.


In-tellinc's Objective

In-tellinc aims to:

  • assist early stage firms, and start-up firms to reach their full potential;
  • improve the rate of commercialisation of science and technology ideas and R&D.

 

Executive Team

James Robinson
Managing Director

Mr Robinson is the Managing Director of In-tellinc. Mr Robinson joined In-tellinc in October 2001 and provides in-depth strategic and commercial expertise gained through more than 10 years in the delivery of IT infrastructure and consulting services. Mr Robinson has also held senior positions at Deloitte Consulting in Australia, where he headed up the ASP and outsourcing practice and IBM Global Services, where he was responsible for mergers & acquisitions and commercial contract arrangements across Australia and New Zealand.

Scott Brownell
Business Manager
Mr Brownell has had wide experience running a variety of successful IT companies in Victoria and Tasmania. Prior to joining In-tellinc he was Operations Director for ISW Pty Ltd. In this role he was responsible for the finance and administration activities of the company as well as taking direct responsibility for sales and marketing of PC Products. Now as an In-tellinc Business Manager he works with the MD in order to seek out, assess and work with companies before, during and after incubation.

Dr Larry Podmore
Business Manager

Dr Podmore joined In-tellinc in March 2002 as a Business Manager, responsible for the evaluation, review and daily management of the Company's investments. Dr Podmore has 30 years of experience in the IT industry in Tasmania where his roles have included software development, training, consulting, sales and management.

Suzi Watral
Business Manager

Suzi is responsible for providing a marketing focus for the companies under incubation. Prior to joining In-tellinc, she ran her own consulting business for 6 years specifically focused on providing strategic marketing advice to the e-commerce and online sector.

Suzi has worked with a diverse number of industries including stock broking, gaming, government, banking, retirement planning, building and construction, energy and the education sector.

Judy Holter
Office Manager

Judy joined In-tellinc in November 2001 as Office Manager/PA to the MD and is responsible for managing the day to day operations of In-tellinc, providing high level administrative support to the Company’s in-house investments. Judy has over 20 years of experience in various industries both in Australia and Canada where her roles have included network support, web site administration and executive administration.


Scott Woodhouse
Marketing Consultant

Joining In-tellinc in March 2007, Scott brings a fresh marketing apprroach to the Company through a range of services both client-facing and strategic.  With particular focus on branding and emergent digital channels, Scott has high involvement in the Web 2.0 space and delivers specialist insight from the industry's leading edge in driving online strategy.

Zain Wright
Marketing Consultant

Zain joined In-tellinc in February 2008 as a member of the k2b Graduate Program and is a marketing consultant for Springboard Accelerator. Zain has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Marketing.

Board Members

Mr Garrick Higgins (Chairman)
Mr Higgins has been an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of In-tellinc since October 2001. Mr Higgins is a lawyer with over 20 years professional experience. Mr Higgins has worked extensively in commercial law and capital raising for over 15 years. Mr Higgins is a director of a number of companies including Mark Sensing Limited and Essential Petroleum Limited.

Mr John McCann
Mr McCann has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of In-tellinc since June 2001. Mr McCann is the founding CEO of the Tasmanian Electronic Commerce Centre Pty Ltd, an organisation established in 1997 with "Networking the Nation" funding to assist SME's in the regional setting take advantage of the opportunities offered by electronic enablement. Mr McCann has had 12 years experience in a range of business diagnosis, development and consultancy roles with a national business group.

Mr Peter Baily
Non-Executive Director - since December 2003
Mr Baily has been employed by Banjo’s Corporation since 1995 and oversees all financial, information technology, legal, business development, human resource and administrative aspects. In 1991 he worked for KPMG in Melbourne, later become part of Pitch Partners Accountants and Advisers and then spent time in Singapore with Foo Kon and Tan Chartered Accountants. Mr Bailey has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Tasmania, is a Chartered Accountant and has a Diploma of Entrepreneurial Management. 

Professor Jonathan West- since June 2005
Non-Executive Director
Educated at the University of Sydney, Professor West has recently returned to Australia after eighteen years at Harvard University, where he taught technology and operations strategy to a generation of MBA students. He was founder of the Harvard Life Science Initiative, a cross-university program to understand the industrial dynamics of the genomics and proteomics revolutions. Professor West has served as advisor to the leadership of several global corporations, including some of the world’s most renowned names in medical research, biotechnology, semiconductor production and agribusiness.

Nick Bedding- since June 2007
Non-Executive Director
Mr Nick Bedding is the CEO/Managing Director of Shadforths Limited, one of Australia’s leading financial institutions, having 90 employees with more than $3 billion of funds under advice. Mr Bedding is a director of a number of companies including; Shadforths Limited, Financial Acuity Limited, Project East West Limited, Cable Nominees Pty Ltd, Fahan School, Fahan Properties, Athena Tasmania Pty Ltd.
