Workshop: Simplicity Is The Key to Effective Business Communications

When Tue, October 22 2024, 9:30 AM
With Rob Gowty
Where RAAF Association, 61 Davey Street Hobart, TAS 7000

Every customer has a unique question. Does your business have the answer?

When you start a small business it’s easy to imagine yourself at the centre of it all. Like a job, we feel it reflects who we are and what we contribute to the world. We want to tell the world about it.

But having a business is different from having a job. It is now your role to attract the customers.

Now that you’re running your own business, you have to look after that for yourself, often on a limited budget.

If you’re starting from scratch, you have to assume that your potential customers know nothing about you.

You need a communications strategy that will help you craft a simple message that is ready to attract customers.

Before you get too creative, be clear, concise and consistent.

With this workshop, we’re going to help you put together a simple Communications Strategy and Digital Marketing Action Plan that will be light on the jargon, and easy for your team to understand and execute.

With a 4 Step Plan, you’ll be on your way to communicating more directly and effectively with your customers.

What will we be covering?

  • Where: Where are your customers? The communication methods we choose must be directed towards where the customers are.
  • What: What do they need to know about your business?
  • How: How do you organize your information? It’s essential to give priority to the things that our customers need to know. Foremost, what is our product?
  • When: When should I be communicating?

As with all small business planning, the goal is to help you make the best use of your time.

This workshop will be presented by Robert Gowty. The workshop will run for one and a half hours, with half an hour at the end to answer questions.

To be eligible to participate you must be a Tasmanian Small Business with an ABN.

This workshop is presented as part of the Tasmanian Business Advice Service (TBAS) with the support of Business Tasmania.
